Calais proxy - Feed it a URL
Found it. A service that takes URL and returns marked up content.
Next item: I bet there's a browser plug-in somewhere around here. Would it be to much to ask for an open-source, hello world, example?

Never ending account acquisition and maintenance
Spent a good portion of the morning signing up for more web services, experimenting, tweaking settings, uploading profiles.
TweetDeck won't talk to LinkedIn today. That TweetDeck is an installed app goes against the grain. It's the old problem: install it everywhere you go; spend 20 minutes configuring it and an additional 20 throughout the day (never remember all the settings); and it still doesn't work the same.
Signed up for Microsoft's SkyDrive http://cid-1df4ee76f1667891.skydrive.live.com/home.aspx. This service is part of Windows Live. Created a new Windows Live account for r-----@l---.com already had on for s----@l----. 25 GB free. Not bad.
IDrive: for Mac only, $4.95 per month. Backup/synchronizing service. Not just storage.
I've heard good things about DropBox. It's a download/install. Oh well. 2 GB free, 50 $10/mo, 100 20/mo. The Dropbox folder is synchronized to the server. Out-of-the-box it creates a 'Public' folder.

Wow - didn't expect this from Facebook
Didn't expect Facebook to open the floodgates. Very clever to do it in the name of privacy and data ownership. Access control is always confusing. I guarantee that people won't realize that "everyone" means the whole world, forever.

"The Facebook privacy transition tool is clearly designed to push users to share much more of their Facebook info with everyone"

"Let’s make this clear. If you make your information available to ‘everyone,’ it actually means ‘everyone, forever.’ Because even if you change your mind, it’s too late — and although Facebook say they will remove it from your profile they will have no control about how it is used outside of Facebook."
